SPRING PRIVATE TREATY & SELECTION DAY 24th SEPTEMBER 2013

Our Spring selling season kicked off last Tuesday with our livestock event at Yea. Pre-registration worked well and enabled rams and bulls to be selected prior to sale start time, and matched appropriately to each producer.

50 Elite NZ bred rams were sold to mostly repeat buyers. Av. $1930 ea.

Paringa 12-14 month old bulls sold av. $3800 top $6500.

·         20 Red Angus – pre sold in August to 3 properties in NT, and Queensland.

Guest speakers engaged the crowd after a beef and lamb lunch. Jon Wright of Coota BlueE spoke on Feed Efficiency, Josh Walter of Murnong Farming Inverleigh spoke on lamb survivability, and Richard Bligh of Rabobank provided a Global Food Update.

The relaxed and family friendly environment at Paringa provided opportunity for parents to view the animals and listen to presentation while the littlies jumped on a jumping castle.
